Actually.. Same Me but with a different mindset .

Every year for the past couple of years my resolution has been to start my writing journey, but like all my other resolutions I failed at achieving it. This past year I read Atomic Habits by James Clear.

I was inspired; to build a system to help me achieve my goal.

This is going to be my first post for this year with many more to come.

As I was gearing up to get to work I came across a Medium post that said, Medium is going to launch a new session this year; to have weekly writing hours.

Yipee!! just the kickstart I needed. Thank you Medium.

During the writing hour they give us optional prompts to write on or you can choose to write your own stuff and one hour for writing them with soothing background music to help with the creative flow. The first session happened on Jan 20th. More details here .

During the first event, there were three prompts given out of which I chose to write on prompt one because that resonated with me.

Prompt 1. Describe one very specific thing you’d like to leave in 2021, Why won’t you be taking it with you?

All my fears; all my fears that held me back from trying out new things because I either felt I was incapable of achieving it or that I would fail at it. But not from here on out, I am leaving it back in 2021. I am going to work on everything that scares me. Everything that I wanted to do but did not because I was afraid to fail, I would tell myself how would you know you are going to fail if you haven’t tried it but the fear was parallelizing and i never ended up trying.

I know it is not going to be easy, it is going to be hard work but I have equipped myself with tools needed to help me move forward and I am going to try it.

I am starting out by creating this Medium post; starting my writing journey.

So here goes hello Medium, I am Anju Mercian, I am starting out writing . I am going to write about my life and experiences, My life experiences trying to be a productive mom and my career journey of switching to data engineering.
